My reflection term-3
Jump Jam
This term we did a thing called jump jam. What you do is the teachers play a video with a song. Then we follow the people on the screen as they dance. Taiao did really well in jump jam because we all danced around the room instead of being silly or not doing it at all. My rating was
8/10. We could improve on the whole school joining jump jam.
Kapa Haka:
This year I joined Kapa Haka for the experience. This year we had proximally 60 people. We started practicing about week 5 or 6. Until week 9 Monday. We were the biggest school for sure! We were the 2nd to last to perform on the stage. 5 kids didn’t do Kapa haka (in Taiao) but I think we did the best at the festival. I, if I had to vote my rating, would be really bad... just joking 10/10 I am going to do Kapa Haka next year if I can.
Speeches:
This wait I'm not going to say it again lest try something new… Cannabis this is what I based my speech on. We had about 5 weeks to write about ANYTHING we want. Well, you guessed it (not really) I did it on Cannabis which is an addictive drug and has been illegal to smoke for a few years. So all of the kids in our class had to do a speech and do it in front of Taiao first. Then on Monday week 7. We got a list on who got through (8 people) I got into the semi-finals but didn’t make it to the final speeches. My rating was (this is of mine) was 7/10 and for the whole class, it was 10/10 because the whole class did really well.
Flim festival:
This was something I had never done. It’s called a film festival and what you do is you make a video your teacher/s say to do unless she/he lets you do a film on whatever you want. Mrs. G let us do it on whatever we wanted. SO I got in a group of 4 with some friends. Then we decided to make a film on what happens when you rob a bank and get caught. And it was quite good. If you want to see our video Film festival Anway my rating of ours is… 6/10 because we had this weird noise when we recorded and the class rating was about 7/10.
Mandarin:
As some people say “save the best for last”. Well, I love mandarin because It’s a privilege to be taught Chinese and learn about what they eat and stuff. Our mandarin teacher is called Roybon Sun in NZ but in Chinese, she calls Rubon Syn or that’s what it sounds like. She teaches us every Monday and we learn how to say words sentences and even colors not to mention music. The music is called Bejing Oprea and well I memorized it. Anyway, I am trying to learn as much as I can and my rating (for myself) 10/10 and for the class 5/10 because a lot of people interrupt and for the kids who want to learn can’t. Anyway, It’s so fun and Robyn is really good at teaching it.
