summer learning journey week 1-3

I am interested in the SPCA charity. They raise money for poor pets or put them up for adoption that can’t owners that care for them. They save over 40K animals a year and 2.5K schools have access to visit the SCPA. SPCA stands for Society for the Prevention of Curttily to Animals they also make books when they get inspired by an animal like a stinky dog they could get idea form.

If someone sees an animal on the road or there owners doing something bad then this is what they want you to do.
Capture and contain it with care. If you see a stray cat or dog, try to capture and contain
the animal if circumstances permit. ...
  1. Call the authorities. ...
  2. Check for ID. ...
  3. Get the pet scanned for a microchip. ...
  4. Take pets with no ID to an animal shelter. ...
  5. Post fliers.

Summer learning journey week 1

Ten foods you could bring on a boat to the sea.

1. pasta salad
Pasta salad is delicious and also healthy food that is good for a snack but also fullying. You could mix all kinds of things with it but a salad.

2. sandwiches
Sandwiches can be healthy and almost anyone not to bring it on a boat would be crazy! you couldn't have meat in them unless it's fresh because we don't have a refrigerator.

3. muffins
muffins are something that could keep you sugar levels fine also really yummy. it would be a good food to take on a trip

4.bread if you brought wheat flour and the ingredients to make bread you could make that for breakfast with some spread. Bread is really good

5. lollies
I would take lollies or sweets because like the muffins It's really good for your body sometimes but too much is a problem.

6.rice.
Rice can go on top of anything. It is a good thing to eat because It's to digest and it doesn't in your tummy

7.Fruit.
It's healthy easy to eat and you don't get sick of it (on the first day) and it can go with your breakfast and good for your body.

8.water
I'm counting water as food there's not much to write about water. You can't live without it.

9.cookies
Yummy good snack for everyone or you to eat.

10.packed breakfast
Breakfast is very important. You could bring light and tasty and eat that for a good wake up food

Thanks for reading

Refection for film festival Greymouth

Film festival refection For the last couple of terms in 2019, we have been doing our film festival on November the 14th we saw all the kinds of film festivals that other people did. To be honest I did really like some of them because they were boring. It was boarding because they weren’t exciting and some of them sounded like they talking to a brick wall. I think the best one was the first one. It was from Paroa school and it was called the bank robbery. I liked it because it was fun to watch and made everyone have a good laugh. This was the first kind of film festival they have done in Greymouth. All of the school’s in Greymouth or around Greymouth took part in the film festival and that was pretty cool. One thing that I would like to improve would be the small screen to watch off and I also didn’t really like the audio. I liked the part that everyone took action in this film festival and that everyone put a lot of time into it By Mark

Refection term 3

VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE BELOW THIS SIGN
My reflection term-3

Jump Jam
This term we did a thing called jump jam. What you do is the teachers play a video with a song. Then we follow the people on the screen as they dance. Taiao did really well in jump jam because we all danced around the room instead of being silly or not doing it at all. My rating was
8/10. We could improve on the whole school joining jump jam.

Kapa Haka:
This year I joined Kapa Haka for the experience. This year we had proximally 60 people. We started practicing about week 5 or 6. Until week 9 Monday. We were the biggest school for sure! We were the 2nd to last to perform on the stage. 5 kids didn’t do Kapa haka (in Taiao) but I think we did the best at the festival. I, if I had to vote my rating, would be really bad... just joking 10/10  I am going to do Kapa Haka next year if I can.

Speeches:
This wait I'm not going to say it again lest try something new… Cannabis this is what I based my speech on. We had about 5 weeks to write about ANYTHING we want. Well, you guessed it (not really) I did it on Cannabis which is an addictive drug and has been illegal to smoke for a few years. So all of the kids in our class had to do a speech and do it in front of Taiao first. Then on Monday week 7. We got a list on who got through (8 people) I got into the semi-finals but didn’t make it to the final speeches. My rating was (this is of mine) was 7/10 and for the whole class, it was 10/10 because the whole class did really well.

Flim festival:
This was something I had never done. It’s called a film festival and what you do is you make a video your teacher/s say to do unless she/he lets you do a film on whatever you want. Mrs. G let us do it on whatever we wanted. SO I got in a group of 4 with some friends. Then we decided to make a film on what happens when you rob a bank and get caught. And it was quite good. If you want to see our video Film festival  Anway my rating of ours is…   6/10 because we had this weird noise when we recorded and the class rating was about 7/10.

Mandarin:
As some people say “save the best for last”. Well, I love mandarin because It’s a privilege to be taught Chinese and learn about what they eat and stuff. Our mandarin teacher is called Roybon Sun in NZ but in Chinese, she calls Rubon Syn or that’s what it sounds like. She teaches us every Monday and we learn how to say words sentences and even colors not to mention music. The music is called Bejing Oprea and well I memorized it. Anyway, I am trying to learn as much as I can and my rating (for myself) 10/10 and for the class 5/10 because a lot of people interrupt and for the kids who want to learn can’t. Anyway, It’s so fun and Robyn is really good at teaching it.

all school should learn another language

All schools should learn another language!

Introduction
What’s the first thing that comes to your head when I say Konichiwa or ni hao? Did you think or say languages? Well, that’s what I am here to talk about and convince YOU and others.

Some schools learn languages others don’t… BUT I think we should because it’s a good exercise for our brain. Dr. Tomas Bak thinks it may improve brain function when you start a new study. Some researchers discovered that young adults that have learned two languages have improved their attention tests (which means they have got better at concentrating) and you never know it might help you later on in life. I think we should start young so we can master it later in high school or university. We can also have lots of fun doing it, plus you can brag about!

You and your friend or family or anyone can talk to each other in the language. Not only will you be learning their language you could learn gestures. For example, they might have different respect to you and now you know how to do that.

This could help so so so much later on in life and you will be patting yourself on the back for that. You might get a HUGE promotion but it’s in China and 3 of things will happen. You will think I know how to speak that language and take the job, or you won’t take it, or you can’t because you can’t talk to them.

Conclusion
All schools should learn languages if possible scientist think that it improves literacy it also helps critical thinking and solving skills. thank you for watching or listening to my persuasive writing about languages… hopefully, most schools could learn about languages as well..

Learning to type ISN'T more impotent than improving handwriting!

Learning to type ISN’T more important than Improving handwriting

Introduction
Learning to type on a Chromebook or any type of device is easy, and we can pick it up in a click. But I think humans are getting NO practice at handwriting because we all have our faces on a screen! Plus I think that it involves more skill that a computer… I think that we should be practicing handwriting a lot more often.

Handwriting is a lot better than typing because everything doesn’t involve a computer! Anyway, you learn if you have misspelled something but on devices, it highlights them in red handwriting and it tells you how to spell the word.. and handwriting is a lot more fun!

Like I was saying before “Everything doesn’t evolve a computer” Jobs have a paper to write on and you could be sending a letter to somebody and it might be messy who wants to send a letter to a family looking like you have just turned three?. I don’t think they will be impressed?

Writing on paper feels smooth like you are writing sheep fur and it doesn't make a noise when you write... you can learn a new talent like you can draw really well or write great stories and publish them around the world! Maybe everyone doesn’t agree but I think we should improve our handwriting before we start to type on computers.

Conclusion
What do you think Handwriting or typing? I would like to know what you think is more important.. Also please leave a comment of what you think I could do better The End Mark.

Jacob and I made each other out of polyline (so Jacob made me and I made him) and this is what it turned out like.

Aesop's fable

Aesop's Fables

Aesop's fables in my opinion.
Aesop's Fables are fun little stories to read. They have lots of different stories to read about and they are all different in their ways.

Who are Aesop's fables?
Aesop's fables were written by former greek in 6th-century BCE-(common error) and were used for entertainment

What are his stories about?
Aesop's Fables are about books for entertainment in the late 6th century. His stories are about how you can improve-(some) and life always doesn’t work in the ways you want them to.

Is there a common theme for his fables?

Top 5 common themes. The golden goose, The fox with the grapes, The wolf in the sheep's clothing, the wolf in the kid

Jacob and I are in a reading group together and we had to write some information about and we worked together hope you enjoy :)

Now you know

Wellington Camp

Wellington Camp

I loved Adrian forest because it was really scary but it pushes you to as far as you can go. Lots of the activities in the adrian forest were awesome. My favorite was flying fox (zip line) because you got an awesome view while you were sitting. It felt like you were flying like a bird… some looked really scary though. All the other activates were fun though but not as fun as Adrain forest which I highly recommend!

My second favorite thing on camp was rock climbing or swimming.
Rock climbing is really fun and safe they had 4 pictures and 4 different ones. I got to the third picture which I was happy with. We stayed there for about 2-3 hours. There was also abseiling (opposite from rock climbing).

Swimming was the same we went to a place called H20 Xtream which is by far my favorite swimming pool that I have seen so far. It was fun because There were 2 hydro slides and a 2-meter drop slide. The pool was massive and they even had waves that would come on and off. Then the river race which was really cool you got sucked in and you would go around in an oddly shaped circle
Then Capital E and we made some really cool music. It wasn’t so hard to do. We went on a site called Acid and took the free trial. I didn’t really like mine because it wasn’t long and I know I could make it better. We had a man named Kit and he helped us make it and show us some of his music and he is a LEGEND at making music.

Everything was fun but I didn’t really like the motel. I don’t think they washed their dishes properly because I looked in the bottom of a cup and it had hair in it. The beds and stuff were comfortable but the dining room was not the best.

Wellington camp was fun… Na just kidding it was EXOTIC
The End
