A figure of speech

Monday- April 15
There are different types of figures of speech. These are called idioms. An idiom is a group of words that has a hidden meaning behind it. So for the first day of term 2 in lockdown, this is what our teachers have sent us https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/axz1rx/there_are_27_figures_of_speech_hidden_in_this/ These are 16 I found. (The saying and answers)

Pull your socks up.
Stop being sloppy

Time flies
time goes fast

Don't put all your eggs in one basket
If you lose your basket with all your eggs you lose every egg you had.

Spilled the beans
Tell someone something that should have been a secret

Big cheese
The important person of the group

Fish out of the water
A person out of their comfort zone

In a nutshell
Summarise something quicky

Patched together
Quickly done rushed not well done.

Keep cards close to chest
don't let anyone know your tactics
or intentions

Ace up your sleeve
Something well hidden before needed
usually a surprise or secret advantage

Tying the knot
Getting or get married

Shadow of your former self
Less healthy or happier than you/someone else
was in the past

Kick the bucket
Going to die

Born with a silver spoon
Born with a rich family.

Wears a heart on his sleeve
Can always see his emotions

Cherry on top
The best part

Summer learning journey week 1-7

If I had superpowers mine would be...

1. Telekinesis. I would have this because I could lift things with my mind and it would be a cool.superpower

2. teleportation. I would use this to teleport to school and teleport to places that I don't need to travel to. in a car

3. invisibility. So I don't die from bullets and stuff like that.

Those are my top 3 superpowers I would want.

Summer learning journey week 1-6

When I was 9 I was playing on a playground and I fell off a platform when playing a game with 2 of my friends and hurt my arm at first I didn't feel anything then about 2-3 seconds later the pain was so painful that I had to walk over to the teacher's room where they eat lunch my friends came with me. The pain was so horrible that I had to get in the ambulance with my parents and go to the hospital. the doctors told me I had broken my arm and no one in the hospital could perform the prosecutor so I had to go an emergency plane to Christchurch. there they put me to sleep.

So when  I woke up there was a big mark on my left arm and I also had these black wires that went inside my arm to hold my arm in place. they explained what bone I broke it was the bone around my elbow and it had moved around somewhere around my wrist (It was around) and I didn't go to school for about 3 weeks then I would pop in and out. the teachers were very kind and while I was in the hospital the kids made me cards and stuff. And I guess that's brave that I didn't mind getting my arm cut open. If you were in the same situation I don't think you would mind to!

Summer learning journey. Week 1-5

Floating around the atmousfar1000 ft below the moon coming down and landed suddenly my feet land on the hard rocky ground "one small step for a man... one giant leap for mankind" my stomach hurts and I hold my breath hoping nothing bad was going to end in death or injury the gravity is very low I hop around like a bunny dogging a bullet as it tries to hop out of the way. the rocks that I throw up from my feet slowly float up to my head as I stick a flag in the moon I take one more look at the giant mentor.

summer learning journey week 1-3

I am interested in the SPCA charity. They raise money for poor pets or put them up for adoption that can’t owners that care for them. They save over 40K animals a year and 2.5K schools have access to visit the SCPA. SPCA stands for Society for the Prevention of Curttily to Animals they also make books when they get inspired by an animal like a stinky dog they could get idea form.

If someone sees an animal on the road or there owners doing something bad then this is what they want you to do.
Capture and contain it with care. If you see a stray cat or dog, try to capture and contain
the animal if circumstances permit. ...
  1. Call the authorities. ...
  2. Check for ID. ...
  3. Get the pet scanned for a microchip. ...
  4. Take pets with no ID to an animal shelter. ...
  5. Post fliers.

Summer learning journey week 1

Ten foods you could bring on a boat to the sea.

1. pasta salad
Pasta salad is delicious and also healthy food that is good for a snack but also fullying. You could mix all kinds of things with it but a salad.

2. sandwiches
Sandwiches can be healthy and almost anyone not to bring it on a boat would be crazy! you couldn't have meat in them unless it's fresh because we don't have a refrigerator.

3. muffins
muffins are something that could keep you sugar levels fine also really yummy. it would be a good food to take on a trip

4.bread if you brought wheat flour and the ingredients to make bread you could make that for breakfast with some spread. Bread is really good

5. lollies
I would take lollies or sweets because like the muffins It's really good for your body sometimes but too much is a problem.

6.rice.
Rice can go on top of anything. It is a good thing to eat because It's to digest and it doesn't in your tummy

7.Fruit.
It's healthy easy to eat and you don't get sick of it (on the first day) and it can go with your breakfast and good for your body.

8.water
I'm counting water as food there's not much to write about water. You can't live without it.

9.cookies
Yummy good snack for everyone or you to eat.
